Bust Half Dollar

The Half Dollar was produced since the very first days of the US Mint's existence and was a very popular and useful coin amongst U.S. citizens. Bust half dollars with lettered edges have undeniable charm, much like the copper coinage of early America. They were struck with screw presses, and each working die was prepared individually, the date, stars and lettering punched in by hand.
