Two Cent Coins

The United States two cent coin was produced from 1864 to 1873. It was made of 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc and is a little bit smaller than the quarter we know today.

While the coin was used primarily for circulation purposes, mint year 1873 was produced with collectors in mind.

Three Cent Coins

The silver three cent piece was a very small coin, the smallest US silver coin ever made. It was proposed in 1851 both as a result of the decrease in postage rates from five cents to three and to answer the need for a small-denomination, easy-to-handle coin.
